Grand Cross Set (1885), 1st Model, for Military in Time of Peace (swords under the crown). The order, instituted formally on 10th of May, 1877, was extended to the division “military in time of peace” in 1885, taking the form with swords under the crown, and for “military in war”, with swords to the centre of the cross. Sash Badge in gilt Silver, maker’s mark “Resch”, both sides dark blue enameled, obverse medallion with the eagle, reverse medallion with Carol I cipher. Original short sash in very good condition.
Commander’s Cross, 2nd Model (1940), for Foreign Officer’s in Time of War, in gilt Bronze, enameled, with original suspension ring, loop and ribbon. Obverse medallion with cipher of Carol I, reverse with 1877. Extremely fine condition, the rarest model for the 2nd type, by Souval, Vienna!
