Bene Merenti Order of the Royal House (1937)

Commander Cross, 1st Class, Military, 67x45 mm in gilt Silver, hallmarked "39 - 900", maker`s mark "HW (Heinrich Weiss, Bucarest)", both sides enameled, obverse with "BENE MERENTI", on reverse the cipher of King Carol II, two swords crossed, original suspension ring, loop and ribbon. The Bene Merenti Order of the Royal House was initially founded on the 6th of June 1910 as the Princely Hohenzollern House Order of Bene Merenti and took over by King Carol II with royal decree the 16th of December 1935. From 26th of November 1937, swords could be added to any grade.

ORDER OF THE ROYAL HOUSE (1935)

Grand Cross Star, 2nd Model, Civil, instituted in 1935. Breast Star, 88 mm., gilt Silver, maker`s mark "BW, Heinrich Weiss, Bucarest", hallmarked "38-11, crown", cross pattee with convex edges and curved arms (sometimes called an Alisee cross), white enamel and a black enameled stripe near the sides of the cross, blue enameled legend "Nihil Sine Deo", surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves (left side) and oak leaves (right side), white-enameled central medallion with the Hohenzollern coat of arms, on the reverse medium pin. Extremely rare star, in mint condition! I RR!

Military Collar Set of the 2nd Model. Badge in gilt Silver, maker`s mark "HW (Heinrich Weiss, Bucarest)", hallmark "crown", both sides enameled, blue enameled legend on obverse "Nihil Sine Deo" and on reverse "10 Februarie 1891", with original suspension red enameled crown, ring, loop, together with the collar chain consisting of gilt Silver and black enameled elements featuring the coat of arms of the Hohenzollern family; Grand Cross Star, 1st Model, Military, instituted in 1935.
