Order of Mecîdî

A 1st Class Badge with Diamonds: pierced silver star, the rays alternated by crescent and star motives, completely set with diamonds; centre medallion in gold with the Sultan’s tughra; red enameled outer circlet with applied 4 cartouches inscribed with the motto of the order in Arabic characters “HAMİYYET GAYRET SADÂKAT SENE 1268” (1851); golden Crescent and Star suspension, also set with brilliants, with reverse link ring and roughly round ribbon ring; smooth reverse, with piercings to the a-jour work; with original, long, neck ribbon; in the original, red morocco case, with fitted inner compartment.
An extremely rare piece of reduced size, of the best Ottoman quality, excellent condition.
