A Judge’s Badge of the Holy Inquisition

In the form of an ornated quatrefoil in Gold; the obverse with cross of the Dominican Order, the reverse, with the symbols of the Holy Inquisition, the Cross and an olive branch and the sword at its sides; ornamented, upper loop, with round ring.
A beautiful, very early badge indicating a high dignity within the authorities of this famous religious tribunal, from the mid 18th Century; very rare and excellent condition.
