A jewelled badge of the order in Gold and of slightly reduced size, with white enameled arms with chiseled border, this, set with purple stones, flanked by the Lions and towers, set with diamonds and rubies, then linked by a thin golden chain; centre medallion in gold with engraved beams and the separately made, enameled image of St. Ferdinand in armour and royal attributes, within black enameled outer circlet; reverse centre medallion with monogram “lM” on black ground, within white enameled outer circlet bearing the golden inscription “R.L ORDEN DE LA REINA MARIA LUISA”; upper, golden laurel wreath with chiseled and engraved details, smooth, polished suspension ring; with the original, bow ribbon for Ladies’wear, fitted with brooch to the reverse.
