Order for Naval Merit

A jewelled, Miniature, Grand Cross Breast Star with the “White Distinction” (award in time of peace) from the Franco Period; Gold, the rays set with tiny Diamonds; white enameled gold centre, with blue enameled anchor; reverse lapel button in gold, engraved with a laurel wreath.
A beautiful, rare piece, extremely fine condition.
This order was instituted in 1866 as a reward for special merits at sea, in both peacetime and wartime.
