The fabulous set of 1st Class (Grand Cross) with Swords together with awarding document to General Louis Joffre: Sash badge in gilt Silver as a white enameled rounded cross flanked by bundles of thin, polished beams and crossed swords with silver “steel-like” toned blades and gilt hilts; deep-sea-blue enameled centre medallion bearing the enameled shield at the arms of Serbia (a white cross on red, flanked by fire- steels) within white enameled outer circlet with the motto “for faith and freedom 1804”, written in Serbian cyrillic script; upper loop as a double, twisted riband, connecting to the Serbian Royal crown with enameled details; round suspension ring; red enameled reverse centre medallion bearing the gilt, Serbian double eagle with enameled coat of arms charged to its breast within blue enameled outer circlet with the cyrillic inscription “PETAR I 1904”; suspended to the original, full length sash ribbon with round rosette-bow; Breast Star with polished, “concave” rays, bearing the centre similar to the sash badge’s obverse; the reverse, fitted with vertical pin; with original bestowal document, given on July 8th, 1920, signed by Aleksander, King of Yugoslavia.
