Decoration of Fidelity to Dom Miguel de Bragança

A jewelled decoration in Gold: eight-pointed star; each point set with three diamonds and ending with ball finial, flanked by chiseled beams; red enameled obverse centre medallion with the embossed gold bust of Dom Miguel wearing uniform and facing left, broad border, embossed with a motif of embossed twisted rope; upper Royal crown and round ring; reverse centre medallion with the monogram “DMI” on pebbled ground within border similar to the obverse medallion.
An extremely rare, probably unique as a jewelled piece, from the different types created and awarded during the wars in Portugal and Spain at the beginning of 19th Century, excellent condition.
