Order of the Crown of Italy

A Grand Cross (“Grand Cordon”) set of the Order: Sash Badge with white enameled cross in Gold, flanked by Savoy’s knots; sky-blue centre medallion bearing the Lombardic Crown with enameled details within thin golden border; golden reverse medallion, bearing the black enameled Savoy’s eagle with white cross on red enameled oval to the breast; little upper loop and oval suspension ring; with original, sash ribbon; Breast Star with chiseled and pierced rays; the upper one, bearing the black enameled Savoy’s eagle with white cross on red enameled oval to the breast; sky-blue centre medallion bearing the Lombardic Crown with enameled details; white enameled outer circlet, bearing inscription in polished gold lettering, with inner and outer, beaded gold borders; smooth reverse, fitted with vertical pin; with the original award document to His Highness Prince Ibrahim Pasha (1847-1894), Field Marshal of the Ottoman Army, dated January 23rd, 1873 as n. 124 of the roll of the foreign “Grand Crosses decorated with the Grand Cordon”.
A set of typical piedmontese manufacture, from the early years after the foundation of the Order; excellent condition and beautiful quality even rarer for having been awarded to one of the most prominent personalities of the Ottoman Empire.
