A Prince size Breast Star of the order with silver, chiseled and pierced rays; gold centre, with with white enameled lilied cross, red enameled, oval centre medallion with polychrome enameled image of the saint in armour and royal robes, within night-blue enameled outer circlet with motto “DEVS ET DIES” in gold lettering; gilt, polished reverse, with four tiny nuts retaining the centre; convex, oval counter-medallion, bearing the engraved maker’s name “Androni in PARMA”; vertical, round pin: in the original , black morocco case with fitted, velvet covered inner compartment.
A beautiful star for use by a young prince or to make easier the wear of many stars on the habit, dating from the 2nd quarter of 19th Century; excellent condition. Dim.: 54.5 x 55.7mm.
