A Grand Collar of the Order in gilt Silver, composed of 7 circular links with the enameled symbol of the United Provinces of Central America, each bearing the inscription “PROVINCIAS UNIDAS DEl CENTRO AMERICA”; 8 larger round links with white enameled scroll on blue and green enameled background, bearing the golden inscription “AMERICA DE DIA CUANDO ESCRIBA AMERICA DE NOCHE CUANDO PIENSE” and a golden writing feather resting on it and an oval, front link with poly- chrome enameled coat of arms of Honduras on blue enameled background; all links, connected by double segments of gilt chainlets; to the front link is appended the badge of the order as a green enameled, gold bordered five-armed, swallow-tailed cross flanked by bundles of polished beams, each charged with a 5-pointed star; blue enameled centre medallion bearing the green enameled depiction of the American continent and a gilt medallion embossed with the portrait of Del Valle; white enameled outer circlet bearing the inscription “ORDEN JOSE CECILIO DEL VALLE 1777 1977” in golden lettering.
An extremely rare Order; the Grand Collar Class is awarded to heads of state only or, exceptionally, to most prominent foreign personalities for outstanding merits towards Honduras; excellent condition.
