A Breast Star of the Order with eight groups of chiseled and pierced rays, each hinged to the centre and held in place by means of steel feathers and fitted with tiny, golden eyelets to the tips to sew the star to the habit; centre medallion with red enameled St. Patrick’s cross flanked by chiseled, silver beams and an overlying, green enameled, golden trefoil, bearing three enameled, royal crowns; sky-blue enameled outer circlet enclosed within two engraved, golden borders with separately-made motto and date “QUIS SEPARABIT” and “MDCCLXXXIII” in gold lettering with “frosted” finish; the reverse with large counter-medallion, this, engraved “rundell Bridge and rundell Jewellers TO THEIR MAJESTIES, his royal highness the PRINCE REGENT AND THE ROYAL FAMILY”; golden plates, protruding aside the medallion, to protect the habit from the steel feathers and three golden suspension hooks, the hinged one below, with spring actioned opening.
An outstanding and excessively rare breast star, of the finest manufacture, from the 1st quarter of 19th Century, excellent condition.
