A complete set of the First Class of the order, made of gilt Silver and Silver, composed by the Collar, the Badge, the Breast Star and the dress miniature: the Collar, composed by four octagonal, black and red enameled links bearing the embossed coat of arms of Brunei, placed forward and to the back, eight white enameled crescents surmounted by a gilt, winged sceptre, four octagonal links enameled in black bearing silver crossed krises, two octagonal links enameled in black, bearing crossed lances with pennants enameled at Brunei’s colours and two further links placed as the forward and the rear ones, enameled in white, bearing both the gilt symbols of the winged sceptre and the crossed lances with enameled pennants; the Badge of the Order as an openwork pattern of intertwined octagons with black enameled details centered by the embossed, gilt coat of arms of Brunei with red enameled details on top within black enameled outer circlet bearing the Order’s motto in arabic calligraphy running below and an ornamental pattern above, resting on a polished silver star; on top, the suspension ring; the Breast Star, with polished silver bundles of rays, alternated by gilt ones, with black enameled ridge; centre medallion with the gilt symbol of the winged sceptre resting on a crescent, within black enameled outer circlet bearing the motto and the pattern, similarly to the Order’s badge; polished reverse bearing the horizontally arranged maker’s escutcheon of Spink & Son Ltd., London; dress miniature of the Order in gilt silver with enameled details, with original ribbon fitted with rosette proper to its class; full sash ribbon with bow; the whole in the original, large, deep-night-blue morocco covered presentation case, the lid embossed with “MOST HONOURABLE ORDER / OF THE CROWN OF / BRUNEI” and a gilt coat of arms above; fitted, ivory-colour velvet inner compartment and white silk inner cushion with maker’s mark of Spink & Son, London.
A magnificent set of the finest British quality of the highest class of this order, instituted on March 1st, 1954 by Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III, excellent condition.
