1st Class Badge, 39 x 34 mm, GOLD, 2nd model of the Khilafat period, a flying double-decker airplane, within an oval made by two open wings linked by the Turkish crescent at the base and on top, the star, the reverse,with horizontal pin and an upper, also horizontal, loop, in the original, gold embossed case of issue, with the original, award document, written in Arabic calligraphy, the printed border, depicting the patterns of the badge.An extremely rare badge (according to a Turkish source, the gold class was rarelly awarded and when it happened, the piece usually was made of gilt bronze, those made of gold, were presented to important personalities or dignitaries), awarded during the very short period of the Khilafat from 1919 to 1924. Provenance: Prince Damad Nabil Amr Ibrahim Bey Effendi (1903-1977) from the Royal Egyptian family, pilot from the Aviation School of the brothers Caudron du Crotoy, Picardie, France, Under - Lieutenant in the Egyptian Airforce in 1921, Commander of the Egyptian Special Forces of Police in 1942.
