A Grand Cross set of the Order: Sash Badge in Gold, white enameled lilied cross, centre shield with polichrome enameled image of the saint in armour on red background, within deep-blue enameled border, bearing the Order’s motto “DEVS ET DIES” in gold lettering; reverse centre shield with Bourbones’ three golden fleurs-de-lys on translucent, deep-blue enamel; hinged suspension crown and original, full-length sash ribbon with rosette; Breast Star of roughly square form in Silver, with diamond-cut chiseled and pierced rays; superimposed order’s cross in gold and white enamel; oval centre medallion with beautiful image of the saint in armour on translucent red enamel of beautiful effect, within deep-blue enameled outer circlet bearing the order’s motto “DEVS ET DIES”, the reverse, with vertical pin; in the original, fitted, red case of issue with ducal crown embossed in gold on the lid.
An extremely rare, homogeneous set of the order in the finest Austrian manufacture, before 1867; excellent condition.
