A “jewelled” Knight’s Badge in Silver, with obverse arms completely set with diamonds; laurel and oak leaves also set with green emeralds, cut stones; centre medallion made of two parts in gold with Napoleon’s portrait, blue enameled medallion’s outer circlet with inscription “NAPOLEON EMP. DES FRANCAIS” in Gold; reverse and suspension crown (this, corresponding to the 3rd type), like the “normal” decorations; The link between the badge and the crown, with a “boar’s head” mark, struck for a subsequent sale of the piece in auction, after 1838; suspension ring struck with the “fasces” mark (1809-1819); with ancient ribbon.
