Order of Charles III

An early Breast Star of reduced size; silver rays, imitating the embroidery, flanked by fleurs de lys; gold centre medallion with polychrome enameled image of the Holy Virgin on beaming ground; golden outer circle with the order’s motto and the royal monogram in blue enameled lettering; the reverse, fitted with the “Biennais” type fastening pin in steel and two side hooks; the reverse centre capsule, protected with fine, green morocco leather.
A piece that, although unsigned, surely can attributed to the Biennais workshop, thus very rare and in excellent condition. Dim.: 56,0 x 55,0 mm. I RR!
