A jewelled set of the Order: Sash Badge in Gold, profusely set with red stones, centered by Christ’s Cross in silver, set with diamonds; short, upper loop and tapering suspension ring, its obverse face enriched with briliants The reverse, struck with three Portuguese marks; with original, silk, full length sash; breast star with chiseled rays in gold; white enameled centre medallion with the order’s cross in gold, set with red stones and brilliants, within moulded and beaded border in gold, the whole surrounded by an outer circlet set with 22 brilliants; smooth reverse, the counter-medallion bearing the embosses escutcheon of the maker, Da Costa, Lisbon and fitted with vertical pin; in the original leather case of issue, with fitted inner compartment.
A beautiful, set of the type awarded from 1910 onwards, extremely rare when in the jewelled version; excellent condition.
