A Breast Star of the Order, with finely chiseled and pierced silver rays; orange-red enameled centre medallion with separately-made black enameled double eagle, bearing the blue enameled St.Andrew’s Cross to the breast and holding laurel leaves and lightnings in the claws; blue enameled outer circlet, bearing the motto “ЗА ВҌРУ И ВҌНОСТЪ” in chiseled gold letters and a green enameled laurel wreath below; chiseled, beaded borders; polished, gilt reverse, fitted with vertical pin; the retaining hook, struck with an unreadable marks, with complete sash with bow.
A beautiful, extremely rare star of the finest French manufacture, dating to the first quarter of 19th Century; excellent condition.

Provenance: Auguste Ferron, comte de La Ferronnays (1777-1842), ambassador to Russia in 1820-1827, was created Knight of St. Andrew on August 22nd 1826. I RR!
