A Grand Collar Class of the Order, 1st type (1921-1944) in gilt Silver, composed of 25 crowned „CX“ Royal monograms of the Danish King Christian X and 25 blue enameled, oval medallions bearing the white enameled white sea falcon, all linked by small rings; to the centre falcon-link the Order‘s badge is appended as a white enameled cross with „cut“ corners to the arms; sea-blue enameled centre medallion bearing the embossed silver sea-falcon; oval, white enameled reverse centre medallion bearing the crowned monogram „CX“, within blue enameled outer circlet bearing the inscription „FYRSTI DESEMBER 1918“ (the date of the creation of the independent State of Iceland, under the Danish Crown); the cross‘s upper arm, with a stylized flower and branches linked to the Royal crown, its orb as the suspension loop; in its original, black leather presentation case, with wine-red velvet, fitted inner compartment and ivory, moirée silk, lid‘s inner cushion.
An exceptionally rare set of the class reserved to the Danish sovereign and foreign heads of state only; excellent condition and quality.
