1st Class Badge with Diamonds, instituted in 1862. Sash Badge, 79x61mm., GOLD, green enameled, the enameled rays, alternated with diamond-set ones, red enameled centre medallion with Arabic inscription: “Abdülaziz Khan, Sovereign of the Ottoman State, who relies on Divine Guidance”, green enameled reverse with centre medallion in gold depicting drums and flags, above, an oval with the date “699” (1299/1300), GOLD Crescent and Star suspension and grooved ribbon ring, original, unsewn sash ribbon.
An outstandingly rare badge of the highest class of this order, instituted at the end of 1861, awarded by the Sultan for exceptional merits towards the Turkish sovereign. A superb luxury badge, in extremely fine condition! I
