ORDER OF THE LEGION OF HONOR

Grand Cross Set, 4th Republic (1870–1940). Sash Badge, 91x61 mm., Silver, enameled, large suspension ring and original, full sash. Breast Star, 90 mm., Silver, hallmarked, with chiselled and pierced rays, centre medallion with Marianne on a highly polished ground, outer circlet with order’s motto “HONNEUR ET PATRIE”, enriched in-and- out with diamond-cut silver circlets, reverse broad pin and two hooks. In original used case of issue, by "Arthus Bertrand - Paris", with gilt initials on the lid, together with lapel hole rosette. Extremely fine condition and rare!
