Jeweled Breast Star to the 2nd Class, 83x83 mm.Silver rays, completely set with brilliants of different- sizes, the centre with white enameled Order’s Cross with broad golden borders, white enameled centre medallion with separately made, red enameled Brandenburg eagle of earlier type, holding green enameled laurel wreath, within thin circlet, completely set with tiny brilliants, white enameled outer circlet with motto “SINCERE ET CONSTANTER”, separately made of gold with chiseled details, the whole enclosed by a border set with brilliants of larger size, the reverse, showing the complicate assembly of the piece, fitted with vertical, gilt silver pin.
A beautiful, extremely rare, elaborately-made star, probably among the first awarded in the jeweled version, from around 1860-70, excellent condition. I RR!
