Sultan’s Medal for Egypt, 1801, in Silver (Vak’a-i Misriye Madalyasi)

Silver, the obverse with the Sultan’s tughra within owers and bows, “1801” at the base; the reverse with Crescent and Star within owers and bows; with original chain-and-hook suspension, mounted to a gold- yellow silk ribbon with rectangular, silver bar bearing the inscription “EGYPT 1801” within laurel leaves; on top, a rectangular, decorated, silver buckle with pin on the reverse.
A rare and attractive piece, adapted for wear by a British subject, mint condition.
