Dame Grand Cross Set. Sash Badge, 46x42 mm, in gilt Silver, blue enamel and red enameled royal crown; applied enameled medallion with fine miniature painting of the two saints; long suspension ring; original sash of reduced width for ladies. Breast Star, 65 mm, with smooth arms and enameled centre medallion; the reverse with round, vertical pin and maker’s escutcheon of Spink & Son, London; in the large, deep blue morocco case of issue with gold-embossed coat of arms on the lid; inner cushion with maker’s mark of Spink & Son, London. A very elegant, early set of great rarity, extremely fine condition! The Order was instituted by King George II in commemoration of his grandmother, Queen Olga and his mother, Queen Sophia; it was awarded to noble Ladies, for outstanding merits to the Royal House. Discontinued as a State order in 1973, is today awarded by the head of the Greek Royal Family. I RR!
