GOLD, 68x40 mm, in the form of a white enameled cartouche, bearing an oval centre medallion with the allegory of medicine, in the finest enamel miniature- painting, within deep-blue enameled outer border,bearing the latin motto “ARS CUM NATURA AD SALUTEM CONSPIRANS” in gold lettering; above, two green enameled laurel branches; the reverse, also white enameled, with blue enameled, oval centre,bearing the inscription “ACADEMIA NACIONAL DE MEDICINA” in gold lettering and a rectangle beneath,engraved “7”; hinged, upper crown with red enameled inner cap, resting on a group of golden,laurel leaves pointing down; round suspension ring. One of the most attractive, Spanish medallions, dating around 1860 extremely rare and in excellent condition. I- RR!
