The Great Order of the Sun (Nishan-i-Kurshid)

3rd Class (Knight’s) Badge of reduced size in gold and fine enamels; hinged upper crown, grooved suspension ring and original, red ribbon. A beautiful piece of probable French manufacture, dating around 1810, in very fine condition, besides minor enamel damage. The upper crown, allows the hypothesis of this being a “réduction” of the 1st class, thus being this, a most rare badge. Dim.: 27,0x16,0 mm. II RR!
