Civil Order of Alphonse XII

Jewelled Commander’s Cross in GOLD, 49x44 mm, 25,2 g, shaped as a beaming sun with a dark-toned eagle with spreaded wings above clouds and the motto “ALTIORA PETO”, within a gilt palm and green enameled laurel branches, surmounted by the crowned, royal monogram “A XII”; below, a polychrome enameled shield at Spain’s arms, set with diamonds; smooth reverse, round jewelled suspension ring and loop, With the original, purple silk ribbon, with 41 diamonds for 0,73 ct. A splendid and very rare order, scarcely awarded between 1902 and 1931; excellent condition. I RR!
