The United Order of St. Lazarus and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Badge of the order in GOLD, 35x33 mm., as a green enameled, white bordered cross of Maltese type, flanked by fleurs del lys, obverse, oval centre medallion in polished gold, bearing separately-made image of St. Lazarus with finely enameled details within green enameled outer circlet bearing the golden inscription “ATAVIS ET
ARMIS”, oval reverse centre medallion with the image of the Holy Virgin and the Child Jesus with enameled details on polished ground, within broad, grooved border, grooved ribbon ring, oiginal faded ribbon.
A very rare and beautiful cross from the 18th century of this military order, instituted in in 1608; excellent condition and in the finest French quality. I RR!
