Supreme Order of the Christ

An early, embroidered Breast Star, 84x69 mm, bright rays made of circular paillettes with borders of silver, twisted wire, ending with tiny loops to mount the decoration to the habit, convex centre medallion also made of silver paillettes with the Order`s cross of red lacquered metal foil and gold wire, outer circlet of golden, twisted wire, the upper ray with flaming heart made of lacquered metal foil and golden wire, the reverse, with original paper backing (this, with minor loss and slight damage). A very rare star, early 19th Century, in very fine condition considering its age. II RR!
