Dame Grand Cross Set. Sash Badge, 46x42 mm, in gilt Silver, blue enamel and red enameled royal crown, applied enameled medallion with fine miniature painting of the two saints, long suspension ring, original sash of reduced width for ladies. Breast Star, 65 mm, with smooth arms and enameled centre medallion, the reverse with round, vertical pin and maker`s escutcheon of Spink & Son, London, in the large, deep blue morocco case of issue with gold-embossed coat of arms on the lid, inner cushion with maker`s mark of Spink & Son, London. A very elegant, early set of great rarity, extremely fine condition! The Order was instituted by King George II in commemoration of his grandmother, Queen Olga and his mother, Queen Sophia, it was awarded to noble Ladies, for outstanding merits to the Royal House. Discontinued as a State order in 1973, is today awarded by the head of the Greek Royal Family. I RR!
