Order of the Sun and the Lion

Jewelled, 2nd Class Breast Star of the Ghajar era: gilt silver rays, completely set with Diamonds, separated by 7 rays set with green, cut stones, centre medallion in gold, with polychrome enameled couching lion and the rising sun, the "sky" with gold-yellow, translucent enamel on a guillochée ground, double outer circlet, also set with diamonds, the reverse, with broad, vertical pin. An exceptionally rare star of Iranian manufacture, extremely fine condition. Dim.: 87,0x80,0 mm., the piece is set with 308 diamonds, for a total of 10,40 ct.
