Straight, double edged blade of flattened section, tapering and becoming of flattened diamond section towards the tip, with narrow, double fuller bordered by a thin groove to the centre and deeply struck with a mark of oriental type towards the forte; blackened horn grip, the obverse with two large, protruding silver studs with nielloed details; woodem scabbard, the obverse covered with red cloth (some, wanting), the reverse with red morocco-leather (being also the sheath to the usually rarely present, original “service knife”, this with straight, single edged blade, double edged towards the tip, with bone grip, this, decorated with metal inlays); silver mounts, their obverse richly decotated with intricate nielloed vegetal pattern; moulded, silver finial; the upper mount, fitted with leather suspension loop, fitted with silver weaved riband.
A beautiful weapon, as worn by Cossack dignitaries, rare in this quality and complete with its service knife; extremely fine, untouched condition, besides otherwise stated.
