1st Class, Grand Cross Set, instituted in 1765. Sash Badge, 63x59 mm, in gilt Silver, both sides enameled, both central medallions gilt Silver, with enameled details, original suspension loop and sash ribbon. Breast Star, 86 mm, with chiseled and pierced rays, white enameled centre medallion with « SS » monogram in Gold and red enamel, surrounded by chiseled border and white enameled border bearing golden motto « PRAEMIANDO INCITAT », within green enameled outer circlet with four chiseled Gold laurel branches, the reverse with narrow pin and two side hooks, maker’s escutcheon of Boullanger, Paris. A superb set of French manufacture, from the 2nd half of 19th Century. Very rare and elegant. I RR!
