Grand Cross Breast Star with Swords, 88 mm., Silver, with finely chiseled and pierced rays, red enameled centre medallion bearing the separately-made, embossed horse in silver jumping on green enameled “ground”, blue enameled outer circled with applied motto “NEC ASPERA TERRENT” in chiseled gold lettering, the whole within thick, green enameled laurel wreath, through the centre, two large, crossed knightly swords made of embossed gold, polished, gilt reverse, with slightly convex counter-medallion, and vertical, round pin.
A richly-made star, of the finest craftmanship, dating to the 1st quarter of 19th Century, excellent condition. I R!
