An early embroidered mantle star to a Knight of the Order, 230x240 mm, the rays of silver wire and sequines, the centre with thin, red woollen cross within thick silver embroidery, the outer circlet made as a tied garter with the Order’s motto “HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENS E” on soft, blue velvet ground; the reverse with original paper backing. A very fine and very early star, from the late XVIII – early XIX Century; extremely fine condition and of high rarity! I- RR!
