End of 19th century - beginning of 20th century, 150x120 cm. The rug belongs to an ordered model that could fall into the category of unique rugs made to celebrate an event, a jubilee, etc. A border with floral motifs frames the central field on a cream background with an arch, a pattern found in the decoration of Christian churches. An elaborate coat of arms with heraldic elements and the symbol of the cross occupy the central field playing the role of the medallion. three other figures frame this medallion, each having inscribed below them the meaning in the Armenian language. Those decorative elements of the carpet are made partly of natural silk, giving the whole compositional ensemble the brilliance and the character of uniqueness necessary for such a work with a dedicated subject. Made from the best quality wool, with a short velor, the carpet is in a very good state of preservation, presenting only a reconditioned area, in the shape of a rectangle of 6.5x3.5 cm.
