Rare old pottery, double water pot "gargoulette" berbere (North Africa, probably Algeria). Offered for a wedding, the peaked upper part symbolizes the masculine, the hollowness open symbolizes the feminine, both parties forming a new house. Terracotta polychrome glazed late nineteenth or early twentieth. Accident to a handle, reattachment and various wear. To be restored. Height 22 cm, width 24 cm.
