The Order of the Brilliant Star

A complete set of Grand Cross: sash badge, 90×57 mm., gilt silver as a red enameled white bordered 5-armed cross flanked by green enameled palm wreath; centre medallion in gold with the polychrome enameled portrait of the Sultan. Within white enameled outer circlet; green enameled, reverse centre medallion bearing the sultan’s Tughra; trapezoidal upper loop to which a gilt laurel wreath is mounted; sphaerical loop and round link ring and grooved suspension ring; with the original, silk sash; breast star, 91×86 mm., chiseled silver; the centre as a gold medallion depicting the Sultan, in polychrome enamel within white enameled outer circlet; the reverse with vertical pin and maker’s cartouche of Messrs. Fayolle, Paris.
